Paige Creo :: @p.creo
Paige is a marketing professional who lives in Shadyside. She is a Pittsburgh native who loves to explore our city and see the world. While she has enjoyed living and traveling abroad (and taken plenty of photos of her experiences!), she also appreciates the connection she feels to her hometown. She loves nature and the outdoors just as much as she likes going to concerts, games, restaurants, and events.
Paige graduated with her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 and her BA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009. She has her own marketing consulting business, Paige Creo Marketing. She is also involved in several organizations in the Pittsburgh area.
Paige has always loved taking photos. Growing up, she carried a disposable cameras around to document family trips or the silly things that her friends and her did together. Eventually she upgraded to a point and shoot digital camera, and she also took a film photography class one year in school.
However, she became more interested when she was in her early twenties and she got her first DSLR, since it gave her options to explore different styles of photography and artistic effects. She took the picture that was selected for the gallery with her phone though, which has also become a valuable tool for taking photos on the go.
The selected photo is of the Georgian, an apartment building located on Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside. Paige lives in the neighborhood and she passes by the Georgian almost every day, but she had never really stopped to admire it until she went on the Captured::Pittsburgh Photo Tour with Pittsburgh Young Professionals. She was impressed by the enormity of the building and its stunning architecture against the backdrop of the evening sky. This photo reminds her that we can find beauty in our everyday surrounding, as long as we pause for a moment to enjoy them.
“I feel honored to have been included in this gallery. I still have a lot to learn about photography, so it is a privilege to be featured among such talented artists. I feel more inspired now to keep taking photos and I hope to grow as a photographer. I am particularly excited to be featured in the neighborhood where I live and spend so much of my time, and I can’t wait to see all of our photos displayed in the outdoor gallery space!”
Paige would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her interests. Her parents helped her purchase a DSLR (Nikon D3000) as a college graduation gift, and her friends have always been patient with her when she would slow down to take way too many photos on their outings!
