Mike Vosburg :: @VOS07
Originally from Burgettstown, PA, but now living in Southpointe, Mike Vosburg is a 36 year old pharmacist / photographer / cyclist / outdoor enthusiast. He graduated from Duquesne University in 2007, and currently lives with his girlfriend Michele, their dog Mesa and their cat Mia. Most of his free time is spent with a camera in his hand or on a bike in one of the many local state and county parks. Recent travels have led to a passion for national forests and wilderness areas, as well as the deserts of Arizona and Nevada.
Mike picked up his first DSLR, a Canon Rebel XSI, in 2009, and has been addicted ever since.
This image represents everything that photography is about for Mike, from the little details to the things he used to miss while hurrying through life. He finds himself falling down a new rabbit hole every time he goes out shooting, whether it be researching why slugs are drawn to poisonous mushrooms, or learning how to identify differences in hawk species.
“I appreciate the opportunity to get my work out to a larger audience. Images are printed so rarely these days, so it will be a thrill to see one of my pieces displayed in Shadyside!”
Mike would like to thank Michele for patiently waiting countless hours for him to get just the right shot. He would also like to thank his mom for thinking every one of my images should be a National Geographic Nature Photography award winner, and his friend Ryan for keeping him humble by commenting on each and every image just how lacking his abilities are. Lastly. Mike would like to give a special shout out to Canon for making the 7Dmkii durable enough to go for a swim in Ohiopyle and come back to life two months later, just in time to take this photograph!
