Kim Dalesandro is an Art Institute of Pittsburgh graduate for design, with over 25 years  experience in the Interior Design field. She currently works at The Home Depot in the Kitchen Design Department.

When she was a child, she had a lot of exposure to photography as her grandmother liked to capture moments, and her father carried on that tradition with a very large digital photo library.

Kim’s photo was taken from just outside the far entrance to the Gateway Center “T” station.  She was looking for a unique vantage point because she felt that photos of this iconic Pittsburgh landmark are everywhere, and they all look the same. Using long exposure helped her create the effect of speeding cars on a busy Stanwix Street, and the reflection is off of the subway station glass.

“Being recognized by other photographers like through Captured Pittsburgh and in a public place with high traffic is a great honor. It means a lot.”

Kim would like to thank Sherry Remaly and Kathy Murtha as friends and fellow photographers that always challenge her to improve. She would also like to thank her family for being supportive, and especially her husband Bill for encouragement and support.
